The Playpen Cranbrook is a boarding kennel that also operates as a humane shelter for stray pets within the Cranbrook city limits as we serve as animal control.

We work within the community to help enforce animal bylaws and keep both animals and people safe.

When we rescue a dog or a cat, we make sure they are healthy and happy. We have them fully vaccinated and given a health exam by Steeples Veterinary Clinic before we find them their forever home.

Due to confidentiality reasons, we cannot confirm or deny the presence of your animal in our facility. If you think your animal has been seized by Animal Control you must speak with them directly. Once you have spoken to them and paid any applicable fines, The City will issue you a pickup ticket which must be presented at time of animal pick up. 

Animal may be picked up at any time during regular business hours, excluding statutory holidays. 

If your animal has been housed with us for more than 5 days, additional boarding charges may apply. 

Services we provide:

• Temporary housing for animals (cats and dogs) who have been collected by Cranbrook Animal Control Bylaw officers. 

Services we do NOT provide:

• We do not accept animals for surrender from the general public
• We do not provide licensing for your animal
• We do not foster animals from other rescue organization
